The 10th Tropical Tourism Outlook Conference 2017 will be held in Sri Lanka on 19 to 21 October, 2017.  This will be a global platform for the researchers, professionals, policy makers, and graduate and undegraduate students from diverse fields to discuss and share their research findings relating to the key global issues. This transdisciplinary. global conference will disseminate, network and expand knowledge horizons with new research findings and solutions.

Sustainable Development has been at the core of place and environmental management since it was introduced through the UN's Brundtland Report in 1987. Creating sustainable environments, however, seems to be continually beyond the reach of our achievements. Part of this challenge is because the concept of sustainable development includes both the goals of economic development and those of environmental and cultural conservation. As such, sustainable development in general, and sustainable tourism in particular, is inherently contested and has outcomes that typically result in winners and losers. Sustainable development in general, and sustainable tourism development in particular, will be a major focus, addressing critical global challenges, environmental development issues and managerial solutions and knowledge applications.

Multidisciplinary Conference Objectives - the three combined conferences seek...
  1. To provide a global platform in Sri Lanka for researchers in the fields of management,  tourism, and the environment to disseminate and enrich solutions to emerging issues and challenges for these three fields.
  2. To encourage cross-disciplinary dialogues by integrating different research findings and knowledge from diverse geographical, sectoral and institutional perspectives.
  3. To bring about a global alliance to enhance the quality and strength of the Tourism Outlook Conference, the Interdisciplinary Conference of Management Researchers, and the International Environmental Sustainability Conference.
